description, Cappadocia is one of the world’s most
important protection areas. For historian definitions,
Cappadocia is a “Treasure”. Lastly, for the lucky guests
having spent on a few days at least in Cappadocia, it is
a “Paradise”.
Cappadocia is
a place that history and nature have been blended in
perfect proportions. While geographic events were
creating Fairy Chimneys, people built houses and
churches within these Fairy Chimneys through carving out
them in these historical processes. Traces of thousands
of years of civilizations have been moved to today by
the means these builds which were decorated with
frescoes. Written history of Cappadocia in which
settlements of people extend from Paleolithic period
begins with the Hittites. Throughout history, Cappadocia
containing trade colonies and being commercial and
social bridges between countries is one of the important
junctions for Silk Road. Cappadocia hosted many
civilizations from Hittites, the Romans to the Ottomans
and Seljuk. Cappadocia is one of the most important
historical heritages of Anatolia.
